The amazingly talented, energetic, and outdoorsy team that rep, write, hike and paddle in the name of Big Outdoors!
Morgan hails from Barrington, Illinois, but booked it out West as soon as she could! Her favorite thing to do outside is extended backpacking trips, and she has done a number of 30+ day trips in the past several years. Morgan's favorite place on earth is the Harding ice field in Seward Alaska, and her favorite thing to eat is dutch oven pie with whatever is left in the food bag. She also takes truly fantastic photos.
Alex hails from Cleveland Wisconsin and enjoys nothing more than going paddling or climbing! Alex's favorite place on earth is the Wolf River, and he can currently be found at the University of Lacrosse eating his fair share of burritos.
Born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin, Kelly is the renaissance man of the Northwoods! He is a climber, paddler, skier, sailor, and generally ridiculously wonderful human. Kelly enjoys cheese as his food of choice, and can currently be found in Duluth Minnesota hanging out on Lake Superior.
Michael is a native Chicagoan living in Minneapolis Minnesota. He enjoys canoeing, making videos, and being a twin. His favorite place on earth is Boulder Lake in Boulder Junction Wisconsin, and he spent many years there while working up at Camp Manito-wish YMCA. Michael can easily be won over with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
Pierce is an avid backpacker and rock-stacker from Saline Michigan whose favorite place on earth is Thorsmork Iceland! To say Pierce likes gear is an understatement. To say Pierce loves gear is also probably an understatement, but its closer to the truth. If you happen to be making omlettes, this guy is interested!
Maria is a fanatical hiker and general outdoors enthusiast who has literally lived all over (if you can think of a place, she has probably lived there). She is also a fan of the White Mountains in New Hampshire, and her favorite food item is a cheeseburger (which is also the name of her dog). She claims she would never eat her though.
Will is from Spring Green, Wisconsin (which is most known for its productions of Shakespeare) but currently lives in Claryville, New York. He works at Frost Valley YMCA, and his favorite things to do in the outdoors are whitewater kayak and exploring new places. Will spent a number of years raft guiding in Juneau Alaska, and his favorite place on earth is Alaska or anyplace on the water. Will is also one of the 95% of outdoorsman who choose bacon as their #1 food of choice.
Dan is originally from Batavia, Illinois. The mountains brought him to Utah in 2011 and he's been pursuing outdoor education in the West ever since. He instructs hiking and climbing for NOLS and ski patrol for Park City Mountain Resort. He loves himself some Chef Boyardee!
Shaun is from Spring Grove, Minnesota and is a avid rock climber, boulder-er, and mountaineer. For Shaun there is absolutely nothing more rewarding the some back yard BBQ after a stout climbing session, and when he is not in the land of trees and rock, he is a carpenter building houses, and a volunteer firefighter.
Charlie Dickson is a product of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and he currently lives in Bozeman Montana. He spends his time going to school and experiencing everything the western mountains have to offer. Backcountry skiing and climbing are just a few of the outdoor sports he can’t get enough of. He loves any kind of sandwich accompanied by a fresh brew of Yerba Mate.
Tara has lived all over the eastern United States, but she currently hangs her hat in Bennington, Vermont. She is a full-time writer and photographer who loves nothing more than a long ramble through the woods, followed by a night spent under the stars. She's got a serious sweet tooth, and has been known to bake cakes over a campfire. Tara blogs at Back Road Ramblers, where she aspires to help families connect with the world and each other by embarking on outdoor journeys big and small.
Raised in the PNW, Hayden is an avid outdoorsman who spends a majority of his time hiking, as well as guiding day hikes and overnight trips. Hayden also enjoys crafting his own fly rods, and he loves some slow smoked bear ribs and a good IPA!
Born and raised on the shore of New Jersey, Amanda is an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast. She currently resides in Winter Park, Colorado where she works as a freelance photographer allowing her plenty of time on the slopes and for weekend backpacking trips. Her favorite spot to hike is in the Adirondack High Peaks, especially during the Fall. She is a lover of good conversations, soft serve ice cream and is always up for new adventures.
Jenn is a New York native, but as soon as she graduated she headed out west to California. Since then her love for the outdoors, hiking and adventure have led her wherever her feet (or passport) can take her. Whether it be cruising the country in an ambulance van, climbing with a fear of heights, or backpacking Southeast Asia, she's fumbling her way around the world and having fun doing it (and petting more than a few dogs along the way).
Austin was born in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. After working as a research scientist for 4 years, he was the lucky recipient of a mid-twenties crisis, during which he built a home out of an old ambulance and started traveling the country. When he isn't driving (or taking the van into the shop) you can find him out rock climbing, hiking, or strumming his guitar. Blog: www.vambulations.com
"Born and raised in St. Louis Missouri, Danny is a climber of all things rock, as well as an all-around adventure enthusiast. He also enjoys running, cycling, and hiking. Danny’s favorite places on earth consist of mountain sides, and St. Louis pizza joints (in that order… unless eating pizza on a mountain side is an option?)"
